Driving Tour Two
Take Highway 7, a nationally recognized Scenic Byway, south to beautiful
DeGray Lake. Continue south on Scenic 7 to Arkadelphia, home of
Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University. There you
will find the nationally recognized point of origin of Scenic 7 located
in a quaint park on the banks of the Ouachita River just a few blocks
from Arkadelphia's downtown boutiques, restaurants, and business
community. Visit the Chamber of Commerce and pick up instructions for
the historic homes driving tour of the area. With over 14 centrally
located historic properties, you are sure to enjoy the tour. From
Arkadelphia, old Hwy. 67 north will offer you a sample of Arkansas rural
charm as you travel through towns with names like "Friendship" and
"Social Hill" on your way to Malvern where Hwy. 270 will take you back
to Hot Springs.
Tour Two Lakes
DeGray Lake: One of the state's most popular bass
fishing and recreation lakes, DeGray offers camping and picnic areas,
beaches, boat launching ramps and showcase facilities for meetings,
conventions and golfing. The lake is well served by numerous recreation
areas and commercial cottages, cabins, and a marina. For information,
